Cabin Reservations!!

Welcome to our wedding blog if this is your first time visiting! We have recently sent out a large batch of "save the date" magnets with our website on it, so I assume we will be getting a lot of new folks reading. If you would like to stay on property with us for the wedding weekend we have cabins still open. Go to the venue website and pick your cabin and contact me to let me know which one you want. You can email me at lauren.minarcik@gmail.com or call me on my cell phone at 832-640-4325. Then call the Hideout on the Horseshoe Monday through Sunday 9 am - 6 pm toll free at 1-888-405-HIDE (4433) or the local number at 830-964-4580 and tell them you want to reserve your cabin for the Minarcik-Shrum Wedding Weekend April 17-18. Let me know if you have any questions!

"Running Man" Mom

I was going through some old video files and found a couple of funny ones to upload. These are from the weekend a couple of weeks ago when my family all came down to visit. One is of Mom practicing "running" in her new running shoes, another of Justin babbling after margaritas and expressing his views... "I believe Sarah Palin can kill all the moose she wants to." O-K.... The last is the ending song from the Jack Ingram concert where Miranda Lambert came onstage... if you've never heard "Goodnight Moon" it's the last song Jack always plays to calm the drunks down... not sure if it worked here. Beware of the shrieking in the background... don't know if it's us or others... (probably us). :)

Texas A&M Football

So I'm still feeling a little down after watching this past weekend's game against Miami. Then I re-watched this video that was on my MySpace page and it made me feel a little bit better to reminisce about the good ole days when I first started college and we had a pretty good football team. I'm posting it here for your viewing pleasure... and to maybe lift your spirits a little too!

Well, it looks like we're going to have a large wedding party... 7 on each side to be exact! I just couldn't exclude any of my girls... and Chris had plenty of friends to match mine. Check out my slideshow of the bridesmaids... we are HOTT HOTT HOTT! There is one missing... I don't have any photos with Chris' sister yet!

Another Wedding Weekend

This weekend my sisters, Melissa and Mom and Dad came to visit and do some more wedding stuff. My Dad really wanted to go to the Shooter Jennings and Jack Ingram show at Floore's Country Store in Helotes and so it worked out that everyone came in and I made appointments for us girls to go dress shopping during the day. We got some good ideas for decorations, picked the bridesmaid dresses out and I finally decided on a dress! Now we just gotta pay for it and get it ordered! We even found Mom a dress on the first try! We had a blast at the concert and Miranda Lambert even ended up coming onstage to sing some songs with Jack. I even talked Shooter's merch man into giving me a huge Jack Ingram banner that was on the fence. Mom was so jealous she wanted it for her house... but I carried it around all night and wouldn't let it out of my sight. I'm thinking about hanging it up over my bed...LOL. Check out the slideshow below for pics from the weekend.

Wedding Weekend

So I know I've already been slacking on this blog thing... people will stop reading it if you don't keep adding things to it regularly!! I'm committing to doing better from now on. LOL. Well, really there's just more things happening now to be able to share. The last weekend in July Mom, Dad, Ali, Court and Melissa came to town. It was supposed to be just a girls weekend, but the boys crashed it! Dad ended up hanging out with Chris and Henry all afternoon Saturday while us girls went dress shopping. We found some hideous bridesmaids dresses and had some laughs... we're definitely going to have to make another trip to pick out dresses! We also went to the wedding venue to show it off to Dad, Ali and Melissa who hadn't seen it yet. Check out the slideshow below.

Esteven Gamez for VP

So apparently Steven Gamez is disputing my recollection of memories from our college days... I'm pretty sure the alcohol made my memories sharper, not duller. But anyhow he has informed me on facebook (not as a comment on the blog bc he's scared to go public) that in fact, it was he, Esteven Gamez, that was the actual VP of the RPTS Club in the great academic year of 2004-2005. Thus, my entire "About Us" section is a farce full of untruths that I must now verify by going back through extensive club records and photographs to verify who indeed were "officers". So if Chris wasn't my VP, then my story completely changes... he was my VIP, "Very Important Person". Sort of like my 2nd right hand man...build this website...sell these t-shirts... I'll go research and come back with the truth and some pics so we can all reminisce. :)

The Proposal

Chris and I got engaged on March 8, 2008 in Luckenbach, Texas. We were going to see Mark David Manders, Mickey and the Motorcars, and Reckless Kelly and camping out overnight with some friends. It turned out there was a little more to the weekend than I was aware of... Chris had called and asked my Dad the night before (interrupting his scrumptious crab cake dinner...lol) if he could marry me. My Dad told him he was crazy for wanting to marry me (thanks Dad :) ) but it was A-Ok with him. All of our friends that were with us that night knew it was coming....both sets of parents were waiting for phone calls...everyone but me! It was definitely a great surprise and I said yes - to the ring and to the beer since we were so close to the beer line (I like to embellish that part a little :) ) Check out our slideshow below.
